Google changes there search algorithm every couple of months.  The new changes are big and are effecting search results across the internet.

Panda release for instance looks for pages that are considered to be spam pages.
A spam pages is a page that has these types of conditions.

  • Duplicate text content over 40%:  Google spider looks for text on your page that came from another website.
  • Thin text:  These are websites that just have one or two lines of text and nothing else.  Its obvious to google that you are just trying to rank for a keywords.
  • Little Rich media:  Rich media are Jpgs, Movies, Graphs, Infographics and other multimedia sources.  If a page is just text with no images googles algorithm
  • Keyword spamming or cloaking:  Hiding keywords using CSS and other hiding techniques.

So what can you do?

Do it right produce pages and website that have rich text and rich media on it.
Do not over optimized.

Google will rank anything if it has authority:
Authority = 90% links + 10% Traffic, Social, Usage, Etc.
